BEAUTY ROUTINE

beautyroutine3It has taken me many, many, many years to perfect my beauty routine. Over those years I have become an extremely brand-loyal person, mainly, because I have very sensitive skin, that if not taken care just perfect will breakout like crazy! Here are the essential beauty products of my life...

Face Wash -- Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Redness Soothing Facial Cleanser
I've been using this for almost 3 years now and absolutely love it. My skin gets red almost instantly when I wash it and this product helps to reduce the redness.

Face Lotion -- CeraVa Moisturizing Lotion
About a year ago my doctor recommended this face lotion, because I having very troubled skin. I don't think I can thank him enough for it! I am completely and utterly obsessed. It is the lightest, softest face lotion I have ever used in my life. I will never, ever stop using this -- it really is that good.

Face Serum -- Avalon Organics Vitamin C Vitality Facial Serum
It's like food for my skin cells. I can tell instantly if I go a day without using this product. My skin looks dull and worn. Generally, I apply this to my face at night.

Spot Treatment -- Organic Lavender Oil
Almost exactly a year ago, I start developing large cysts under my skin. Since then, I have visited 4 different doctors and tried over 10 different prescriptions in attempts to resolve my cystic acne.

After 9 months with very little decline in my cystic acne, I dove into the internet in search of something else I could try. Near midnight, I stumbled on this forum were a woman suffering with cystic acne said she was using Lavender Oil topically to combat her cysts. I made a trip to Whole Foods the following day to pick up some Lavender Oil to see if it would work for me. I was ecstatic when after a week of applying the Lavender Oil topically it was working and fighting my cysts 20 times better than any expensive prescription product I'd used in the pass months!

I apply about 2 to 3 drops of Lavender Oil to a bandage and place it over my cyst for about 2 hours or overnight -- depending on the size of the cyst. For the most part my cystic acne has subsided, but as soon as I feel a cyst forming under my skin I will dab it with Lavender Oil just before going to bed.

Eye Cream -- 40 Carrots Eye Gel
I like this eye cream, but I'm not completely sold. I think after I have used it up I will try a different product. If you have an eye cream you're in love with please share!

Cleansing Tool -- Clarisonic Brush
As I divulged above, I've been struggling with cystic acne for sometime now. Another suggestion I found from my hours of Googling was using a Clarisonic Brush to wash your skin. It was always one of those things I'd pushed to the bottom of my wishlist, but after too many nights of crying about my skin's state I look $200 dollar plunge. I am so happy I did.

It's hard to describe how clean your skin feels afterwards. You truly have to feel it to believe, then you will never go back. I couldn't believe how much makeup, dirt and build-up is left on your skin face washing your face with a washcloth, soap and water. A Clarisonic is definitely an investment in your skin, but one I would completely recommend to any skin type.
